The strange, masochistic saga continues - all for a bagel? One of the great things about Yelp is learning that you are not alone; in this case, that means not alone in feeling the brunt of the weirdly antagonistic service here! I am so usually turned off, I stop coming here; then a few months go by and I find myself walking in, hoping it has changed. But, alas... It's a shame, because their bagels are probably the best around downtown South Miami (though I cannot say the same for their coffee). Also, their lunch sandwiches are probably a better value than Panera and the soups are pretty good as well. But, is it worth enduring the glares, the shouting, and out-and-out rudeness? No, of course not - but ask me again in a few months! Parking? You're joking, right?

We went here for breakfast. Parking at this location is crazy - the lot is tiny and there were several people waiting for spots to open up, so we drove around the block to find some metered parking. We were greeted by employees yelling at each other across the store - something about whether or not the utensils were in the bag for a catering order. We waited for a while to place our order, but were ignored because the employees behind the counter were gathered around the health inspector who had just come from the back to the counter area. She told them they had some major violations, including a cooler that needed to be fixed and she'd be back tomorrow to recheck on it. At that point we didn't want to eat but I still needed coffee. After waiting several more minutes without being acknowledged by the employees we said "Hey, can we just pay for some coffee" before the employee let me pay and handed me a cup, without an apology for the delay. I quickly filled up my cup and left, wondering why I bothered going here when there's more than one Starbucks nearby. Never again!

I can't say many good things about this place. The food was decent. The service was not. It was a human sardine can inside. I waited patiently in line, placed my order, paid for it and waited. And waited. And waited. Fifteen minutes passed. People around me came and went and still no food. Well, it turns out they forgot my order. After I complained, the food was promptly prepared. Then, as the manager walked away, I asked if I wasn't going to get some form of compensation for the poor service. He gave me a signed business card saying I could have a complimentary meal for two on my next visit. Manager, if you're reading this, when a customer receives poor service compensate them of your own free will. The fact I had to ask for my refund taints it. Let's see how things go the next time around. Update to come soon.

As da roomie says, I had a craving for caw-feee and I couldn't deny it. I had already hit S-bux the day before and a friend had suggested Einstein Bros for better prices and better coffee. (You can debate her.) Hours: Firstly, holy smokes! 5 AM opening....Go Einstein! That is early! They beat the supermarkets and Panera....you can get in right at your waking hour or before! Options: Caw-feee! Iced or hot...For iced, you get it out of the machine and have a couple flavoring options for the hot! A large is less than $3, and we ain't talking S-bux measly sizes. And, it is a bagel place so bagels. They have some amazing options. No, you won't get your "New York boiled bagels bla bla bla" as these bagels are more bready. But harummgghhh the gourmet apple cinnamon bagel is carbalicious deliciouness as is the spinach florentine if you are craving savory! You can see them warming up the bagels fresh in the morning. And for those healthyish, they have smart choices with the bagel thins and bagel thin sandwiches, which actually have a decent amount of protein. Service: Speedy and friendly. I struck up a conversation *cough cough* debate about Apple products with the cashier. And other patrons joined in. All in all, awesome possum! It's right along the highway so drop in and out in a carb...I mean heart beat!

Good bagels with unique cream cheese choices at an affordable price. Parking is a nightmare but besides that the service is very friendly. The iced coffees are also very tasty

I'm going ahead and giving this Einstein's the 5 stars for the incredible customer service, as opposed to whether or not I liked what I chose to order (which I loved, btw) or how busy it gets (good for them, right?) Yesterday I had visited this location for the first time. I was greeted by the tiniest parking lot and instantly thought, "this was a bad idea." Thankfully, cars are always leaving the parking lot so both times I've visited I have found parking in less than a minute. The exterior is cute and cozy. The employees all had smiles on their faces and I heard them great everyone with a genuine "good morning" despite the amount of customers they had. The guy who made my bagel today, Jose, came out to every customer and handed them their orders with a smile. Oscar and Heather made sure that my entire order today was comped after forgetting the cream cheese on my bagel yesterday. Einstein's is one of my favorite bagel places, but I've never been in one with such a friendly atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!! I had to come back to give this place a one star the manager who was oh so nice turned out to be just like her employees giving me expired breakfast vouchers I went to another Einsteins to use my "free breakfast voucher." Where I was kindly embarrassed when they informed me all 3 were expired since December 2014. It's JULY 2015. This US1 Einsteins goes down in the record book as the worst experience EVER

Bagels in the am, sounds good. We came in early on a Saturday morning. Super friendly guy took care of us. The assortment of bagels was plentiful. Fresh and hot just like we like them. We were boring we just got a cheese bagel with cream cheese. I did notice they had sandwich bagels with egg's ham, etc,... The bagels are good, I found my cheese bagel to be sweet and was like what is going on. My daughter informed me they seem to lay them in the case next to the brown sugar or cinnamon bagels, so yes they get the flavors of the bagels. Was not crazy about the sweetness. I did order a latte and it was very good. The place is super clean and very good service. Parking lot is very small, we got lucky and found a parking but this lot would deter me from coming here. Prices are up there as well. Just OK for a quick bite.

This is the worst einsteins I have ever been to. Understaffed and unorganized! How hard is it to run a decent bagel shop?

Dropped by to pick up some bagels on the way down to the Keys, and decided to eat lunch there. I had the lite turkey without the bagel or sauce on the everything bagel with water, while my spouse had the same but with it all included on a Asiago bagel. We also picked up 6 cranberry bagels, ate outside, with traffic and trains but it was still nice to get outside after flying to Florida. Reasonable prices for the sandwiches, but get the Bakers dozen as it makes more sense. Delicious sandwich, really nice server.

Highly recommend. Great bagels, pastries, coffee-most is self serve so you can have it the way you like it. The bathrooms are clean and it's quieter than Starbucks. Free wifi too!

Love getting breakfast here in the morning. The big negative here is parking. But I guess it's expected since it's right on miracle mile.

i wish i didn't love this place so much b/c the parking blows! if you are not lucky enough to find onsite free parking then you have to pay street parking for the minimum of an hr. ugh. i've only had to do this once and vowed to go to elsewhere if this happened again. love their bagels! so soft and the cream cheese is so creamy.

I love the fresh bagels and everyone who works here is super nice I just wish it was a little more roomy lol I've been here several times with my family when they come down to visit, it's something you find everywhere so it's easy and we can all agree on it for breakfast/brunch. The stores are really consistent in quality and great coffee too (which in my household is a requirement before 10 AM). You have to be sure though to hit them at the right time if you're looking for something specific because it is a popular place and more than likely (as I have discovered) your favorite is probably someone else's favorite too! The eggs here are really good and fresh, which is a great change in pace from most breakfast places, but my secret favorite has to be the cinnamon sugar bites. OMG. Its like yeah, I'm being grown up and having more than cereal for breakfast....but its still covered in delicious sugar and spices! Dipping them in strawberry cream cheese (which imho is the best around) makes it quite the delicious treat too. I would give them a higher rating but I just can't bring myself to do it because twice there I have had someone run in to me while carrying trays of food and cover me in cream cheese -_- honest accident, and it was no big deal but still. Not cool lol

I don't know why einstein bagels only has 2 stars? in my opinion its not that pitiful. I will admit, the parking does suck and the lines do get crazy long sometimes, However, if you manage to beat the crowd, its a solid place for a bagel and oj. I always get the lox on a six cheese bagel .. so good

  • Marylin T.

There is a man with a wolf outside the store and when the wolf barks it is very loud creepy. Who takes their wolf to get coffee? Any ways the place is always busy and it could use some serious cleaning after a patron leaves. Lots of people behind the counter and your order might still take sometime to be ready. (I don't understand that). Super tight place not much room to move around you are definitely going to bump in to someone else so be careful with that hot stuff (your cup of Joe). They close in the afternoon and are not open at night. Funny thing their parking lot is used by the stripper club next door. Lol

Toaster was catching fire, smoky, no ice, dirty. God help those that eat anything that these people are preparing. People were ok, ice tea was ok, but all in all a pretty sad place.

This has become part of my weekend work tradition. I always order the Nove Lox bagel, which is delicious. They also have THE BEST chocolate chip cookies - soft, full of chips and just the right amount of chewy. In the summer, my favorite drink is their strawberry lemonade. I only wish they would understand that it's summer year-round in Miami and serve it all the time!

I actually just came back from there and never again! I was in line for about 10-15 min and the guy in front of me was complaining when it was his turn because they seemed to run out of every bagel except Poppy and 2 Garlic. Well, they actually had about 6 plain bagels but told the guy to "pretend they weren't there"...? They refused to sell the Plain bagels. The man was upset and told her to ask a manager why they weren't selling the plain bagels after a 15 min wait, and the cashier walked away upset and said the "F" word out of frustration. I was so disgusted with this attitude by the cashier and lack of management! As another reviewer said, Deli Lane is just around the corner and far better service/quality!

Thought the vanilla hazelnut latte was too sweet. The food is okay, but nothing that causes you to crave what they have to offer. A quick snack joint that needs more parking spaces.

2 stars for real? No way. I go here almost every Friday for my Everything bagel and smoothie fix. I get in and get out and enjoy my breakfast. Yes, parking is tricky since there is only 7 spots or so, so it might be easier if there are two of you in the car, pull in, drop off, get order, have the other person do a drive around the block deal, come back and get you, drive off and enjoy your Einsteins. Well, that's often how we do it anyway. However, I have been here often by myself and found parking. I even have left my white paint on one of their poles-I totally didn't see it. I was too into my yummy strawberry banana smoothie for under $4 and 350 calories! I dig Einsteins, but the one star I'm leaving off is for the size of their bagels, they are small.

Finally went to this chain and never again will I ever come back! My boo and I went on a Sun afternoon to get fast food lunch before heading to fairchild. Chipotles was crowded so Einstein was the next place on the list. Upon approaching I swear we just drove up to an empty parking spot. The parking really sucks as we saw other folks looking for space. Entering Einstein's we were greeted to a not so friendly staff member who was getting ready to take our order. I said "h"i and the guy said nothing; just leaning against the wall while taking our order. I ordered the panini with chicken and they had no bread! And barely any bagels to choose from! And it was still early in the day! What the heck! Once we got our foods we sat down near the window on stools. When I bit further into my sandwich it wasn't piping hot! I forgot what my boo had but he wasn't too crazy with his sandwich either. In conclusion we or I won't be stepping into this Einstein's anytime soon! The place had that dirty feeling as we looked around after we ate. Just the whole ambiance of the place didn't jive!

It was my 1st time ever eating at an einstein&I was disappointed based on the hype given about them. I wont lie, the food tasted good but I agree that the level of service& inside appearance could be MUCH better. I know customers can be messy but tables, floors& condiments station was unappealing. The place just looks like its cleaned weekly. Bathroom doors? Ugh! I didn't even venture in that direction. Then while sitting on this beautiful saturday morning, I witnessed what I assume is a manager because of her burgundy shirt, take up a bagel to be prepared with her BARE HANDS.(&trust me,i double checked) NO GLOVES which the other employees were wearing. I immediately felt disgusted at what I had already eaten&knew this place, MAYBE another location, but THIS place would never see me again. I'd rather drink water to suffice my hunger.

Good tasting food, but WAY overpriced. I wasn't impressed on the value of the food, and I couldn't recommend it to anyone.

Very poorly run store, it must belong to an absentee, out of state owner. I've stopped at this location many times over the years because I have to drive by it, so it's convenient. Coffee is ALWAYS a problem. Every single time. It's old, or the urn is empty All the timers show they were overdue to make fresh urns , the answer is "the timers don't work". They're out of the Euro brew? "We don't make any Euro after 11 AM" WTF??? The Neighborhood blend is ice cold. "the heater must be broken" When I demand fresh coffee most of the time the help gets into arguments with each other because no one wants to be bothered to brew another urn. And this is the best: they sell bagels right? If they've had a run on them and they run out by 12:30, well that's it for the day. They won't bake more, they'll just hang out waiting for 3 pm. Sometimes the place is dirty as well. About the bagels, no these are not traditional (boiled) NY bagels. They're new style , simply baked. That doesn't make them better or worse, just lighter. Which ones you prefer is a matter of taste.

Listen here, Einstein Bagels... Your bagels are not that smart. As a civil engineer, I feel like your parking lot design is ridiculous. As a bagel lover, I find that your bagels are too chewy. As a coffee connoisseur, I find your coffee bitter and bland. But as an American, I find your bagel business pretty standard for outside of NYC.

We made good time this morning, the wife and I, heading to work so we decided to stop for some breakfast. Been a while since I returned to Einstein's. The last visit did not fare very well, what with the snooty cashier and surly staff making my visit oh-so pleasant. I'm happy to say I was not offended nor upset by staff this time so, yay for that! My spinach and bacon egg panini was friggin' delicious too btw. And my hazelnut coffee was just what I needed to wake me up from being up since 3 a.m. thanks to my precious little 3 year old. God bless his sweet little soul. Einstein's, you have redeemed yourself. I shall return... for now.

The boyfriend and I went to Einstein Bros and not only did we get bagels, but I got yelled at too. To say that it was the worst experience of my life isn't really saying enough. The staff seemed upset for no reason (or maybe they have every reason to be upset...I would be if I had to work there), and when I went back to the counter to ask for a knife to spread my cream cheese, the manager YELLED at me and said that they were by the napkins with the other utensils. I told Mr.Assface that I had already checked there and they were out. With the worst possible face he could make, he handed me a plastic knife. Had it not been plastic, I may have stabbed him with it. If you're looking for breakfast in the area, Deli Lane is just around the corner. No one will yell at you there (unless you ask for it and tip well). Panera Bread down the street is another option.

  • Gregory N.

I'm not a huge bagel lover, so I can't tell you if these are authentic compared to New York. But I have my favorite, the cinnamon raisin, with some blueberry cream cheese and I'm happy. The parking lot is a bit awkward, but I think that place used to be a gas station and its a weird shaped lot. Anyway, I ride my bike there, so no big deal. Get a bike. The staff is always pretty friendly and helpful. I like to think it's my angelic face and positive aura...but they're probably just friendly and helpful people.

  • Riselda R.

I love the bagels at Einsteins. Haven't tried any better in Miami. Their vanilla hazelnut coffee is my favorite as well. The only problem with this location is the parking. There are limited spots and you have to drive around the block and find meter parking if all their 7 spots are taken, which they usually are. I only give three stars because of this issue, otherwise I'd give it a higher rating.

  • Vanessa S.

Saturday morning, what to eat? Thankfully, one of my best friends called with a bagel craving, so off to Einsteins we went. It was crowded which was to be expected at 11 on a Saturday morning and yet the line moved smoothly, our order was taken with care and everything tasted just as it should! After my spinach florentine bagel I'm ready to tackle the weekend!

With Bagel Emporium just down the street, the only reason to come here is flat out convenience - if you're driving down US 1 and you pass it, it's a better option than McD's. With a quick and easy order process, you will be in and out with a bagel pretty quickly (less quickly if it's a weekend) ... but you won't enjoy it nearly as much. I've been here several times, had egg & cheese on a bagel, veggie bagel sandwich, muffins, egg wrap ...etc., and it's always just OK. Every time I leave thinking I should have just endured a longer wait at Bagel Emporium (or even hit up Dunkin Donuts). I love bagels, and it's such a disappointment when they're not up to snuff. These are ok, smaller, not a lot of flavor ... corporate bagels. Their specialty iced tea is yummy. That's about it. Parking it a nightmare at this spot - their lot is awkward and small. When it's busy, it's SUPER annoying. They should just have a drive through.

  • Maria S.

This place is great for a quick breakfast. The bagels are always fresh and their cream cheese is dee-licious. My hubby loves the egg sandwiches. The service is not great and the place is packed on weekend mornings, but so are most places in Miami. Oddly, they have no soy milk. I find this very annoying since I love my soy-Chai latte's...

Best pumpernickel bagel around! The vanilla hazelnut coffee is AMAZING. Friendly, helpful staff too! Complaints: Not enough parking and they don't ever make black russian bagels like it says on the website.

Im a regular when it comes to einstein bros bagel. I like the green chili bagel, i use to live on the beach and love the food and the service, now i have move to south miami i go to the einstein in south dixie hwy by the sunset, even though the service is not fast like the beach i still go there because i have time to kill. i like my breakfast sandwich , last week i was there as usual. i order my food and they had a gal making food while she was eating, she put her bagel on top of the cutting board and start making the customers order. it was disgusting, not to mention unhygienic , she would eat her food with the glove on, i don't understand if she know what the hell she was doing, but the manager on duty should know better, i work in the food industry, i will fire if i see any of my employees doing that, if you want to eat, take a break and eat, i don't think that these people gives a hoot about any one or they are just ignorant.,

Horrible parking, long lines, decent food, but a $13 breakfast for eggs, fruit, water and expresso... Really?

    (3)
  • Robert C.

First off, its a damn bagel, I dont know why people put up with the half assed service and attitude there, and especially when Bagel Emporium is down the street. Not only that, but you have Deli Lane, and Panera practically right next door. Then there is their coffee, which blatantly sucks. This is possibly the stuff prison riots are started with. Why do you people do this to yourselves and put up with half assed service, terrible attitude, and morons on your day off, when there are so many other choices out there? I ve never been a fan of Einsteins, I like bagels like any other guy, but I' ll be damned if I am going to go through an obstacle course in order to eat a circular bread with a hole in it, when I can get that same commodity somewhere else and with about half the attitude. In regards to their food, in my opinion, the food here is just ok. Average, generic. Nothing terrific, or great, and definitely nothing that would make me want to deal with nincompoops, terrible parking, and/or large crowds on a Saturday morning.

    (1)
  • Arie S.

Ridiculous to park at and average bagels at best. Coffee is decent, but if I'm going to go to a chain I prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee. Go to bagel emporium a few blocks away.

  • cindy w.

I didn't have a problem with this place at all. This is a popular breakfast place in South Miami's Us-1 corridor and alot of folks stop by here for the bagel choices. Yes, there are other more "real" bagel/deli places but this place is pretty darn convenient and the folks are friendly for the most part. I come here to read the paper and nosh a bagel, ya dig?

    (3)
  • Roxy R.

I hate this place. It is dirty and the employees can barely get an order right (how hard is a bagel toasted with cream cheese??!). You are way better off at a local deli than getting ripped off at this chain. The only saving grace is the vanilla hazelnut coffee--which also might be the only thing safe to consume.

    (1)
  • Grace B.

The location is good but not convenient because there isn't enough parking! That's my only issue tbh. Besides that, service is always quick and efficient. The cashiers ate always nice and greet me, this makes a huge difference to me so THANK YOU. Their coffee is decent/good but Starbucks' is healthier if you care about that. I love their Turkey Bacon Avocado and that finger licking Chipotle sauce! For breakfast, you can't go wrong with Mushroom, Spinach and swiss on a delicious asiago cheese bagel! People do the surveys to score yourself a free coffee or $2 off any lunch sandwich. It's always nice to save here and then because it CAN add up. Love those delicious bagels
